Shape the future of intelligent robotic systems at Aeon Robotics.
Aeon Robotics develops advanced robotic systems and intelligent software solutions at the intersection of robotics, automation, and artificial intelligence. Our work focuses on creating practical, scalable technologies that bring intuitive human-machine interaction into real-world applications.
As part of our software team, you will contribute to the core intelligence and user interaction layer of our robotic systems. Your work will focus on two critical pillars: intelligent perception (vision and force) and the visualization of these complex processes through modern graphical interfaces.
This position is ideal for a Master’s student who wants to combine low-latency software development with applied AI in the fields of image processing and force-sensitive manipulation.
Your Mission & Responsibilities
- Visual Perception: Develop and integrate Computer Vision modules (using OpenCV or Deep Learning) for object detection, localization, and tracking.
- Force-Based Control: Assist in implementing and optimizing force-sensitive control loops and tactile data processing to enable delicate grasping and manipulation.
- GUI Development: Design and build high-performance Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs) to visualize real-time sensor data, such as camera feeds, force-torque vectors, and system states (e.g., using Qt/PySide or web-based stacks).
- Software Integration: Bridge the gap between AI-driven perception and robot control using Python and C++ within a ROS environment.
- Validation: Test and debug the full software stack on real robotic hardware.
What You Bring
- Enrolled Master’s student in Computer Science, Robotics, Mechatronics or a related field.
- Strong skills in Python and C++.
- Experience in Image Processing (OpenCV) and AI frameworks like PyTorch/TensorFlow.
- Solid experience with ROS / ROS 2 (Rviz, custom plugins).
- Basic understanding of Control Theory (PID, force/torque sensing).
Nice to Have
- Experience with Computer Vision (OpenCV).
- Practical experience from student projects, internships, or research work
- Familiarity with robotics middleware, simulation environments, or AI frameworks (Tensorflow)
- Interest in applied AI or machine learning in real-world systems
- Understanding of Edge AI (e.g., TensorRT, ONNX) for low-latency inference.
What We Offer
- A challenging working student role with real responsibility and technical impact
- Direct collaboration with experienced engineers in robotics and AI
- Flexible working hours compatible with your studies
- The option to write a Master’s thesis, subject to separate agreement with the university and Aeon Robotics
- Flat hierarchies, short decision paths, and an agile working environment
- A collaborative, international team passionate about building cutting-edge robotic technology
